The desire to return to our most authentic selves can cause many deeper issues to rise to the surface. It forces us to look at how we are taking care of ourselves and how we are relating to the world around us. The endless information surrounding wellness and health can trigger a sense defeat and an inability to know where to start. Barefoot Manifesto is here to serve as a guide, through the self, to the self, for the self.
I began practicing yoga at age 15, but it wasn’t until a period of loss and confusion in my early 20s that I found the true benefits of this mind, body, and soul practice. I was at the precipice of my one year MBA program at the University of Denver, and people kept dying. I was overcome with despair and an ever present dilemma: continue believing in the good of the world and that everything happens for a reason or lose all faith and move through life disconnected and indifferent. Though I had no grasp on the good in the world in that moment, I knew a life without faith would only invite more misery. I made my choice. A consistent yoga practice is what got me through and to this day I credit yoga as my Xanax. Fast forward a few years to when my devotion to yoga guided me to Yandara Yoga Institute in Baja, California. I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and Reiki Level 1 Training, and had one of the most transformational experiences of my life. Since then I have remained dedicated, studying under Meg McCraken, delving deeper into the realms of meditation and yoga nidra. My intention is to share what I have learned and the wisdom I have gained, empowering you to embark on your own healing path.
Barefoot Manifesto takes a holistic approach to how we can create optimal health and a lifestyle that best serves us. Each individual is different, and what works for one person isn’t necessarily the perfect recipe for another. Barefoot Manifesto makes it simple and adheres to fundamentals based in physical movement, a predominantly plant-based diet, a practice of self-reflection, and a curiosity into the spiritual realm as the key ingredients to wellness.
Wellness starts from within, but sometimes we need a bit of outside guidance to embark on the journey. I am here to support you whether you have walked the healing path 100 times over, or if it is your first step.
I offer weekly classes throughout North Lake Tahoe. My classes are rooted in tradition with a modern twist, and will open your body and your heart.
